DESTINATION : LADOS
Cycling in the countryside, on the small hilly roads of the South Gironde, of any beauty!
This route was developed from the Cycling Loop N ° 10. The markings along the road can help you in addition.
You will discover the small villages of Bieujac, Auros, Lados.
Halfway, you can stop at the Carpoleyre reservoir. Ideal place for a picnic.
You will discover the Château du Mirail, just before Brouqueyran.
Finally, on the way back, a stop at the Rivet Abbey is a must. This 12th century convent is beautifully restored. A shop of monastic products (jams, cookies, beers, free-range chickens, etc.) will allow you to discover an unsuspected activity!

DESTINATION : BAZAS
Discovery of the South-Gironde by hiking on a beautiful cycle path, then small roads with very little traffic.
Departing from Castets-en-Dorthe, join LANGON by the “route du bas” which runs along the Garonne. Take the cycle path that will take you to BAZAS, via ROAILLAN. This track crosses a beautiful forest which already offers a landscape of the Landes. You will arrive on the cathedral square: magnificent! Discover the arcades and perhaps you will want to eat something: we advise you to taste a meat, from the famous local breed of cow “La Bazadaise”.
After a break in Bazas, take the same path until the crossroads xxxx. Take the road towards CAZATS. You can admire the superb 13th century church of St Martin with its steeple. In the fields behind the church, you will certainly be able to see Bazadais cows, recognizable by their characteristic color.
Join the D123. A stop at the Rivet Abbey is a must. This 12th century convent is beautifully restored. Via Bieujac, you will end the hike in Castest-en-Dorthe.

DESTINATION : LES CHÂTEAUX DE SAUTERNES
From Castets-en Dorthe drive towards Langon, following the left bank of the Garonne, on a very quiet road called the “route du bas”.
At the SNCF station, you will take the cycle path along the boulevard towards Bordeaux. You will pass the roundabout at the entrance to the motorway, the LIDDL supermarket, still on the cycle path. You will continue passing near Fargues and its historic castle, then you will arrive in Sauternes.
There the “Great Châteaux” circuit will begin: Château Filhot, Château Guiraud, Château Yquem, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Château Rayne Vigneau, Château d’Arche: only great names! You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to visiting a few and tasting their nectar.

DESTINATION : LOUPIAC – PAR LES COTEAUX DE L’ENTRE-DEUX-MERS
Hike on the slopes of Entre-Deux-Mers, through the vineyards.
The course is very hilly and will allow you to discover the plots of vines planted towards the South, making sublime designs depending on the slope. Although beautiful all year round, fall is still the time when the colors are most beautiful.
The route will take you to famous places: Saint Germain-de-Grave, Loupiac, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Verdelais and finally the castle of Malromé.

DESTINATION : CHÂTEAU DE BENAUGE À ARBIS
Hike on the slopes of Entre-Deux-Mers. The route is very hilly and takes small roads through the vineyards
Coming from Donzac, you will discover the Château de Benauge located on the highest point of Entre-deux-Mers, at an altitude of 122 m. This building dates back to the 13th century and has been altered many times. He is impressive by his size! It was one of the most important fortresses in Gironde: 80 m long by 50 m wide, ovoid in shape.
Going up to Ladaux, you cannot miss the Château d’Hories, completely restored in 2016, both externally and internally.
You will continue the hike to the citadel of Cadillac, along the Garonne. Its castle, built under Henri IV then Louis XIII, of French architecture combines pomp and military character. It preserves rich decorations: monumental fireplaces, tapestries, painted ceilings. On the way back, you will discover the Malagar estate, where François Mauriac was devoted to writing. Today, a cultural center, you can visit it and admire the view over Langon.
Finally, to end this hike in style, you will pass the residence of Toulouse Lautrec, the Château Malromé. Recently restored, we strongly recommend that you stop there for a guided tour of the painter’s apartments: fascinating!

DESTINATION : BORDEAUX PAR LA PISTE CYCLABLE LAPÉBIE
From the Cycles du Canal store, you will reach Langon by “La route du bas”.
You will go to the SNCF station to take the train (TER) to Bordeaux, Gare Saint Jean (30 minutes). When you arrive in Bordeaux, you can walk along the banks of the Garonne by both banks between the Pont de Pierre and the Pont Chaban-Delmas.
Back at the Pierre Bridge, a brunch is a must! After this fitness, join the right bank (opposite to the center of Bordeaux) by following the bicycle route towards Latresne.
You will pass in front of the new ARKÉA ARENA performance hall. Then, along the quays, you will see superb residences where it must be good to live!
In Latresne the Roger Lapépie trail begins. This old railway line has been converted into a cycle path for 54 km, as far as Sauveterre de Guyenne. What happiness! You’ll even walk through a tunnel where you’d expect to come across a steam locomotive!
On leaving Sauveterre de Guyenne, you will take small roads crisscrossing the vines of Entre-deux-mers.
This part is wonderful, but far from flat! Saint-Sulpice-de-pommier, Saint-Exupéry, Morizès, Sainte-Foye-la-Longue, then arrival at the Store!
